Lughnasa At The Stud (12th August)
On Tuesday 12th August, the Irish National Stud & Gardens will mark the traditional harvest festival of Lughnasa with an afternoon of family-friendly activities rooted in Irish heritage.
From 12pm to 4pm, the area around the Thatched Cottage will come to life with music, dancing, a bouncy castle, fairground rides, and market stalls. Visitors can also see traditional crafts in action, including basket weaving and spinning.
All activities are included in general admission, making it easy for families to enjoy everything the stud has to offer — from the gardens and paddocks to the horses themselves. The restaurant, playground and picnic areas will be open, as well as the Irish Racehorse Experience.
Whether you’re visiting for the horses or looking for something different to do with the kids before school starts back, Lughnasa at the Stud offers a mix of fun, tradition, and space to explore.
